Â鶹´«Ã½ retains special [non-medical] evacuation coverage through Crisis24,  for qualifying community members when political or environmental dangers are so grave that departure is necessary, but limitations and exceptions apply. See Evacuations for more information, including eligibility.  

Availability and Duration 

Crisis24, Â鶹´«Ã½’s evacuation assistance provider, determines the availability and duration of evacuation services. Once an evacuation window closes, the service is no longer available. Â鶹´«Ã½ will designate whether an evacuation is recommended or required, depending on the circumstances and the traveler’s status (student or employee).  

Required Departure 

Students who refuse to comply with evacuation orders may lose their student status (impacting their financial aid), evacuation insurance coverage, and health insurance coverage (if provided by Â鶹´«Ã½). Faculty or staff who refuse to comply with evacuation orders may be subject to disciplinary action based on their employment status.  

Recommended Departure 

All travelers eligible for evacuation benefits will be connected to Crisis24 representatives as long as the evacuation window remains open. Travelers should be aware that deterioration of local conditions may limit a traveler’s future access to health and safety resources and delay their ultimate departure. U.S. Department of State services will also likely be reduced or suspended. Given these constraints, Â鶹´«Ã½’s ability to support travelers in such circumstances will also be limited.
