Office Goals
The Office of Global Safety and Security (OGSS) supports the health, safety, and security of students, faculty, and staff engaged in international activities such as study abroad, research, conference participation, arts performances, and athletic competitions. We offer specialized support for individuals with pre-existing health conditions or those traveling to higher-risk destinations.
In the Office of Global Safety and Security, we:
- Train trip leaders / organizers and supports group travel
- Manage a robust health insurance policy
- Provide ongoing advice through our website and newsletter
- Collect and analyze incident data for insurance and training purposes
- Support high-risk travel for undergraduates and graduate / professional students
- Monitor international travel exposure for proactive outreach
- Share information with other units to comply with state, federal and university mandates
