Enlightened Disagreement event

Enlightened Disagreement Program Heats Up During Winter

The Litowitz Center for Enlightened Disagreement certificate program tackled conversations over moralized difference this quarter. After two sessions, the 200+ student participants reported better understanding of the opinions of others as well as their own. Due to high demand, the program will be expanding its capacity for 2026-2027, and students can express early interest now.

Dittmar Memorial Gallery Welcomes Submissions

Dittmar Memorial Gallery at Norris University Center is a student-operated exhibition and gathering place inviting the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ community to meaningfully interact with art from varying perspectives. The gallery is now accepting submissions from artists from the Evanston and Chicagoland area for display in 2026-2027.

The Salon: Poetry as Contemplative Practice

March 4, 4:00-5:15 PM, Parkes 204

This installment will explore poetry as a contemplative practice. No love of writing necessary, just an openness to reflect on the possibilities of a poem to be a mirror, a guide, a question, and a way of life. We’ll engage in an interactive practice to consider how we can all make different meanings from the experience of reading the same poem.  .


Wellness Coaching

Wellness Coaching is a collaborative, non-judgmental process to help you identify and achieve your health and wellness goals related to: physical activity, sleep, healthy eating, time management, and stress management/coping skills. Sessions are one-on-one, confidential, and free for all Âé¶¹´«Ã½ students.


Wildcats in Recovery - NU's Collegiate Recovery Community!

The Center for Student Advocacy and Wellness (CSAW) presents "Wildcats in Recovery" - a Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) that supports students in recovery from substance use disorders, process addictions, and eating disorders. We aim to bring students together and provide them with the necessary resources to excel here at Âé¶¹´«Ã½!


Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Spring Cohort 2026

Build stress hardiness this spring with Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), an eight-week, evidence-based course that teaches practical tools like meditation, gentle movement, and body awareness to help you manage anxiety, stress, and daily pressures. MBSR has helped participants strengthen focus, emotional balance, and overall well-being. Click here for more information.


ResilientNU - Spring Cohort Registration

ResilientNU is your crash course on increasing wellness, managing stress, and finding balance. Created by a group of students and staff, this program hosts small group cohorts for 5 weeks. Our goal is for you to leave this program with research-backed strategies to help you grow towards a healthier and more resilient you. Starts April 14th! .


 

Immigrant Owned: Photographer Jonathan Castillo in Conversation

Join us for a discussion of artist Jonathan Castillo’s “Immigrant Owned” portfolio. Castillo will be in discussion with Myrna García, Associate Professor of Latina and Latino Studies. A light reception will precede the artist talk, from 5-6 PM. !

Aquí en Chicago: Curating Community

February 27, 9:00 AM-2:00 PM, Leave from the Center for Civic Engagement (1813 Hinman Ave, Evanston)

This trip to the Chicago History Museum’s Aquí en Chicago exhibit will introduce students to the humanities’ role in collecting cultural heritage and combating historical erasure. The trip includes a behind-the-scenes tour of the exhibition and a lunch with the curatorial team. !


How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

Big business means big laughs in this riotous romp through the corporate world that took Broadway by storm. The story follows the meteoric rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, an ambitious window washer who stumbles upon a book titled How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. !

Registration opens Monday, March 8, at 8:00 a.m. Beloved classes like Introduction to Pocket Billiards and Public Speaking are returning, joined by exciting new options such as Introduction to Black and White Analog Photography and A Brief History of Liquor & Spirits.


A Close Look: Water Security & Flint Is Family

March 11, 3:00-4:00 PM, The Block Museum of Art, 40 Arts Circle Drive 

Essi Rönkkö, Associate Curator of Collections and Academic Programming, will lead a discussion of Frazier’s photographs covering the Flint, Michigan water crisis. Professors Sera Young (Anthropology), Julius Lucks (Chemical and Biological Engineering) will share how water safety and lead contamination also affects Chicagoland. .


 

Red Watch Band Alcohol Bystander Intervention Trainings

February 26, 6:00-7:30 PM, Tech L251

This training will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to identify, prevent and intervene effectively in an alcohol-related medical emergency. You’ll also learn about how alcohol affects our physiology and behavior, signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning and the truth behind common alcohol-related myths. !

CSAW's Opioid Overdose Prevention and Naloxone Training

 This one-hour training is for students who are interested in being trained to administer Narcan (naloxone). Attendees will learn how to recognize signs of an opioid overdose, identify when it is appropriate to use Narcan, learn how to administer Narcan to an individual they believe is experiencing an overdose, and identify additional emergency steps to take. All attendees will receive a two-pack of Narcan upon completion of the training.

The Summer Internship Grant Program (SIGP) provides a $3500 stipend for Âé¶¹´«Ã½ undergraduate students (enrolled at least through Fall 2026) participating in unpaid internships this summer. Students do not need to have an internship secured before applying and previous SIGP recipients can reapply. Apply by Tuesday, March 10.
