Gale Service Event: 4/18

Join Student Transition Experiences and Leadership Development and Community Engagement for a day of service cleaning at Gale Community Academy. Transportation and lunch will be provided during this event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Spots are limited for this one-time volunteering opportunity, so sign up now.

Introducing the 2025-26 Student Employees of the Year

As part of National Student Employment Week, Âé¶¹´«Ã½’s Student Employee of the Year awards recognize workers in several categories. This year’s winners are Narmeen Chahal (Community Service), Inka Rzezinowska (Leadership), Ethan Parekattil (Technology & Innovation), Elianna Phillips (Critical Thinking), Timothy Huff (Community & Belonging) and Maggie Munday Odom (Overall Student Employee of the Year). Join us in celebrating these student employees!

LA Career Trek Applications Due 4/19

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Career Advancement and the School of Communication are hosting a Film & Television Career Trek to Los Angeles, Calif. from Aug. 17 to Aug. 20. Undergraduate students interested in exploring careers in film and television are welcome to apply to this program, with NCA and SoC guiding the three-day experience of employer visits and networking. Learn more about what to expect here, and apply by submitting your resume and answers to two short essay questions (250 words each) before April 19.

Indiana Dunes National Park Day Hike

May 9, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM

Lace up your shoes and hit the trail with us! Join us Saturday, May 9, for a beginner-friendly day hike at Indiana Dunes National Park. Enjoy scenic overlooks and diverse ecosystems, all while learning about the area. Bus transportation, snacks, and lunch are included.


Hop Around Evanston

Every Saturday April 4-June 20, 6:00-9:00 PM

Hop Around Evanston is a free community bus tour designed to connect residents and visitors with Evanston’s vibrant downtown and neighborhood business districts. NUSC Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Student Open House

Join us for an afternoon on the lakefront at the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Sailing Center! Âé¶¹´«Ã½ students are invited to stop by to discover everything the Sailing Center has to offer. Red Watch Band Alcohol Bystander Intervention Trainings

April 19, 6:00-7:30 PM, 12:30-2:00 PM, University Hall 102

This training will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to identify, prevent and intervene effectively in an alcohol-related medical emergency. You’ll also learn about how alcohol affects our physiology and behavior, signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning and the truth behind common alcohol-related myths.

Grounding for Public Service (GPS)

Every Tuesday from 5-6pm, Parkes Hall 120

GPS is a weekly learning and connecting space focused on learning more about Evanston and Chicago through a social justice lens. We always enjoy a free dinner. Everyone is welcome. We meet every Tuesday in Parkes Hall 120 from 5-6pm. Learn more here.


CSAW's Opioid Overdose Prevention and Naloxone Training

This one-hour training is for students who are interested in being trained to administer Narcan (naloxone). Attendees will learn how to recognize signs of an opioid overdose, identify when it is appropriate to use Narcan, learn how to administer Narcan to an individual they believe is experiencing an overdose, and identify additional emergency steps to take. All attendees will receive a two-pack of Narcan upon completion of the training. !


Walk the Labyrinth

April 17,  Parkes 122

Join us on Friday at 3:30pm for an introduction to the labyrinth and guidance in walking (not mandatory if you can’t make it) and then the labyrinth will be available for walking from 3:45pm-5:30pm. Plan on about an hour for the full experience! .

ResilientNU 

April 21, 5:00-6:15 PM, Main Library

ResilientNU is your crash course on increasing wellness, managing stress, and finding balance. Created by a group of students and staff, this program hosts small group cohorts for 5 weeks. Our goal is for you to leave this program with research-backed strategies to help you grow towards a healthier and more resilient you. Starts April 14th!  .

Queer Survivor Group

April 23-May 28, 5:00 PM

CSAW’s Queer Survivor Group is a six-week group open to all Âé¶¹´«Ã½ students who identify as queer and as survivors of interpersonal violence. The group will offer a queer-affirming space for members to process harmful experiences, connect with fellow queer survivors, and gain skills and frameworks for healing. .


CSAW's Alcohol, Cannabis and Other Drugs Consultations

The Center for Student Advocacy and wellness offer Alcohol, Cannabis and Other Drug consultations for students who are interested in exploring more about their use of substances. If you have questions or want to learn more about harm reduction in a confidential one on one setting with a health educator from CSAW. !


Wellness Coaching

Wellness Coaching is a collaborative, non-judgmental process to help you identify and achieve your health and wellness goals related to: physical activity, sleep, healthy eating, time management, and stress management/coping skills. Sessions are one-on-one, confidential, and free for all Âé¶¹´«Ã½ students.


Wildcats in Recovery - NU's Collegiate Recovery Community!

The Center for Student Advocacy and Wellness (CSAW) presents "Wildcats in Recovery" - a Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) that supports students in recovery from substance use disorders, process addictions, and eating disorders. We aim to bring students together and provide them with the necessary resources to excel here at Âé¶¹´«Ã½!

Grass Gossip is harm reduction event series focused on cannabis education. In this workshop, participants will learn about the methods of use and types of cannabis products, the physiological effects of cannabis consumption, among other topics. Food will be provided during the first session will be held on April 20 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Searle Hall.
