The Center for Student Advocacy and Wellness combines the resources previously available in the Center for Awareness Response & Education and Health Promotion and Wellness. Its offerings include advocacy services, support groups, workshops and trainings, wellness support and drop-in meditation sessions.

We are excited to announce that Rev. Jackie Marquez, M. Div, MAPC has been named Âé¶¹´«Ã½ University’s 
Chaplain and Director of Religious and Spiritual Life. She began her role on Monday.

Flu & Covid Vaccine Information
Free intranasal flu vaccines for students will offered on 11/10 and 11/12 on the Evanston campus. Appointments for flu and COVID-19 vaccines are also available at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Medicine Student Health Service.
MLDS AI Hackathon

November 5-14, 6:00 PM

Join the MLDS AI Hackathon at Âé¶¹´«Ã½—an exciting event open to all NU students! Form a team of four (or get matched at the event) to tackle fun AI challenges and compete for top prizes. Printmaking in Process: Anna Kunz, Soo Shin, and Lane Relyea

In this program, artists Anna Kunz and Soo Shin—both featured in the exhibition and represented in The Block’s collection—join associate professor Lane Relyea (Âé¶¹´«Ã½, Department of Art, Theory, and Practice) for a conversation about their artistic practices, influences, and connections to Frankenthaler’s legacy. !

Wildcats in Recovery - Peer Support Meeting

The Center for Student Advocacy and Wellness (CSAW) presents "Wildcats in Recovery" Our peer support meetings offer a relaxed, nonjudgmental space where students can connect, discuss topics related to recovery, support one another, and find community. Peer support meetings are open to those who are in recovery, thinking of recovery, and allies of people in recovery.

Big questions like who are you, what do you value, where are you headed? Spiritual Direction gives you space to slow down, reflect, and process with someone who’s got your back. One-on-one, confidential, zero judgment whether you’re religious, spiritual, or just curious. Students say it’s one of the best ways to stay grounded during the chaos of college. Learn more here!

Find a Spiritual Direction at Âé¶¹´«Ã½

Spiritual Direction is a one-on-one space to explore life’s big questions of meaning, purpose, identity, or whatever’s on your mind. It’s open to all backgrounds whether you are religious or not. Sessions last about 45 minutes, once a month, and may include conversation, silence, and reflection. It offers you the chance to pause, pay attention to your inner world, and stay grounded during the rush of college life. Learn more and schedule a preliminary session.


Wellness Coaching

Do you want to improve your overall health and well-being, but just don't know where to start? Wellness Coaching can help!

Wellness Coaching is a collaborative, non-judgmental process that can help you identify and achieve your health and wellness goals, balance dimensions of health and wellness, and learn practical skills to improve overall well-being. Coaches work with you to build on your strengths and support you in creating sustainable plans to achieve your wellness goals. 


 

Request a NU Bystander Training!

NUBI (Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Bystander Intervention) is an initiative that aims to create a safer, more caring, and supportive community by engaging all students, faculty and staff and asking them to play a role in shifting our campus culture.

Bystander intervention is a 90-minute training that was developed to help people identify and interrupt moments of harm or potential harm. The training is intended to help empower people observing a situation to know how they can take an active role in intervening to stop immediate harm, and ideally future harm, from happening.

Red Watch Band Alcohol Bystander Intervention Trainings

This training will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to identify, prevent, and intervene effectively in an alcohol-related medical emergency. You’ll also learn about how alcohol affects our physiology and behavior, signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning, and the truth behind common alcohol-related myths. !


CSAW's Opioid Overdose Prevention and Naloxone Training

This one-hour training is for students who are interested in being trained to administer Narcan (naloxone). Attendees will learn how to recognize signs of an opioid overdose, identify when it is appropriate to use Narcan, learn how to administer Narcan to an individual they believe is experiencing an overdose, and identify additional emergency steps to take. All attendees will receive a two-pack of Narcan upon completion of the training.

Trainings will be offered at least two times a quarter. More trainings may be scheduled if there is increased demand. !


 

Love Data Visualization Contest Office Hours

November 18, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, Mudd Library, Small Classroom 2124

Students are invited to participate in the Data Visualization championship. Cash prizes will be awarded: 1st ($250), 2nd ($150), or 3rd ($75). Office hours for questions, will be available in person on November 18, 2025, from 10 AM to 12 PM, and on January 8, 2026, from 1–3 PM in the Mudd Library small classroom 2124. Entries are due on January 14, 2026.

Fall ASLA Drop-In Peer Tutoring

Come see the ASLA Peer Tutors for help with variety of courses! You can find them Sunday through Thursday. Locations include Schapiro Hall, Shepard Hall, Elder Lounge, Tech, GSRC, SES, the Black House, and the Multicultural Center. Subjects Covered: Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Economics, Engineering Analysis, Math, Physics, Statistics

Choose from a variety of workshops, virtually or in person (Chicago), like AI for Research, Next Steps in Python and R, Foundations in Genomic Analyses, Statistics, Data Management, and more!

NCA: December 2025 Investment Banking Career Trek to NYC

Applications due October 26 midnight (Sunday)

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Career Advancement is hosting an to New York City on Monday, December 15, Tuesday, December 16th, and Wednesday, December 17th. This Trek is for students who identify as sophomores planning to actively apply to investment banking internships for their summer 2027 experience as early as winter break 2025/winter quarter 2026.

NCA wants to ensure that cost is never prohibitive to a student’s career planning. Students with demonstrated financial need may be offered support for travel and lodging. More details will be provided to those students who qualify (see application). Applications should be submitted no later than October 26th midnight (Sunday).


NEXT 2026: Sign up to Shadow an Alum at Work!

Register by November 5! 

Spend time job shadowing a Âé¶¹´«Ã½ alum. First, register in the system by Nov 5, then apply for experiences between Oct 31- Nov 12. The Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Externship Program (NEXT) is a unique job-shadowing program designed to help you explore career paths in a variety of fields. To learn more and apply, visit !
