2026-2027 Graduate Re-Contracting FAQ
When is the graduate re-contracting process?
The process will run from March 23 to April 3 in the Housing Portal. If you do not participate in this process, your current (2025-2026) housing contract ends on June 13, 2026 at 12pm and your current apartment will not be available for the summer or the 2026-2027 academic year.
If I will be graduating in Fall 2026 can I still participate?
If you will be graduating in Fall 2026 you will re-contract for the full academic year. Then, during Fall 2026 quarter, you will submit a cancellation request due to graduation. You will not be charged a cancellation fee.
What are the options for re-contracting?
- Contract for summer only in your current apartment from June 13, 2026, until August 29, 2026. Charges will not be pro-rated based on leaving early. All students will be charged the full rate. You must be enrolled in summer classes for this option.
- Contract for Summer and the 2026-27 Academic Year in your same apartment.
- Contract for Summer and the 2026-27 Academic Year requesting a different apartment.
- Contract for 2026-27 Academic Year (with no summer booking) in your same apartment. In this case you would move out by June 13, 2026 at 12:00pm (noon), and will move back in on or after September 8, 2026. This requires you remove all personal possessions from the apartment during the Summer.

Will I be able to stay in my unit until Commencement on June 14?
- You will submit a late stay application in May. Through this option you will be asked if you are graduating. If you are graduating, you are eligible to stay from June 13 to June 16 at no cost. If you wish to stay from June 16 to June 30, you will be charged the pro-rated amount for your unit.
- If you are not graduating, you can submit a late stay application, and you will be booked and billed from June 13 to June 30.
Have rates been released for 2026-2027?
- Rates have not been released yet, but they will be updated by June 2026.
- Residents can expect a 3%-5% increase in all housing rates including parking.
Is storage available at McManus and Engelhart Hall?
- McManus Center has storage only available during the summer. To be eligible for storage, residents must live in the building for the spring quarter and have a contract to return in the fall quarter. We have limited storage space and typically students have to share the space. If eligible, you will receive an email in May to sign up.
- Engelhart Hall has storage units for each apartment that are available year-round. If students have moved out in the spring, they are not eligible to use the storage units (even if they are coming back Fall quarter). Storage units are accessed with their apartment key. Students must provide their own locks to the unit. Students in shared units will share the storage space.
- Garrett Place Apartments has storage units for each unit that are available year-round. Each student must provide their own locks to the storage units.
- Keep in mind there may be time due to emergencies when Facilites may need to enter a storage unit.
If I want to change units during re-contracting how does that work?
- If you choose the option that you want to change units then you will rank your unit type preferences.
- Our office will work on those assignments after the graduate re-contracting is complete.
- All students will receive email confirmations on April 8, 2026.
