Puzzles build eye-hand coordination, small motor skills, manual dexterity and self-confidence.
Directions: Tell Ms. Geier the names of two of your toys. Parents—If your child does not have any toys he/she calls by names, ask her/him to name two toys. No help from parents on this. Let the child come up with the names all alone.
Email Ms. Geier with the following:
1. The names your child has assigned to two toys.
2. What are those two toys and what do they teach the child during play? Any other information you would like to share regarding your child’s developmental milestones is welcome.

Directions:
1. Tell Ms. Geier any rhyme that you know and can say alone with no help from parent.
Parents--Type the rhyme (or help the child type it) and email to Ms. Geier
2. Draw a shape in White Board. Give the shape and name and color it any color you wish. Save the shape and email it to Ms. Geier.

The Never-Bored Kid Book, Ages 4-5 by Joy Evans, and Jo Ellen Moore A book full of projects children can work on. Projects are easy and take very little if any instruction from parents/teachers. The projects also help reinforce spelling, matching, using scissors, following directions, etc
Activity: Compound Words
Compound words are two words put together to make one word. Examples: cupcake, pancake, popcorn, barnyard, etc.
1. Write/type as many compound words as you can think of. No help from parents or siblings. (Don’t forget to put your first name on it before you email. 2. Email to Ms. Geier.
